The Sign
A wrought iron silhouette type sign dated 2000 commemorates the Millennium. The main feature is the round tower church of St Mary at the top. The rest represents the countryside and agriculture of this area including the pheasant, corn and tree. The sign is located on the Street between the Hall and the village.

The Name and Population
The village had a few names in 1086 - Aldeham/Ealdham & Ialelham. The name means "Old Homestead/village or Alda's village" from Anglian and Old English. The population was 175 at the 2011 census.

Other Points of Interest
The round tower church of St Mary appeared in the TV series the Detectorists.

The church contains two royal arms.
