Bramfield

The Sign
The sign is made of wrought iron and is located at the crossroads opposite the pub. The main theme is of the rather unique round tower church, St Andrew, where the tower is detached from the church and probably always has been. The main building is also thatched. The church is literally less than 100m away from the village sign.

The Name and Population
The population was 487 at the 2011 census. It was called Bru(n)felda in 1086. The name means "Broom open land" from Old English.

Other Points of Interest
The church has a very nice rood screen inside and plenty of memorials.

Bramfield Hall is 16th century with a crinkle-crankle wall around its boundary.
