The Sign
The sign is composed of mainly the name and the reason for erection which was for the Queen's Silver Jubilee in 1977; also shown by the crown on top. Below the name is a man and horse ploughing the field in the traditional way and ears of wheat below. 

The Name and Population
The population was 345 at the 2011 census. It was called Hacestuna / Hece(s)tuna / Hetcetuna in the Domesday Book. The name means "Haecci's farm or settlement" from Old English.

Other Points of Interest
Glevering Hall is a historic house and estate within the parish which was built in 1794 by Chaloner Arcedeckne, MP. Glevering Hall became a Grade II* listed building on 25 October 1951.

The church is dedicated to All Saints.
