Market Weston

The Sign
The sign is surmounted by the crown of Henry III and the date 1263. Immediately below is the church of St Mary and the old windmill which once stood not far from the village centre. The scene below the name, shows everybody having a good time at the market for which the village was given a charter in 1263. The sign is in the grounds of the village hall.

The sign was erected in 1990 and is dedicated to Charles William Guy Hatten, in recognition of his services to the community, as recorded by a plaque on the post.
