Denham
The Sign
The sign was erected in 2008 on the side of the B1117 road at Shingle Hill Corner. The sign consists of a wooden carved oak tree on top the post with metal cut-outs on four sides depicting several images above the village name. The deer represent those on the Denham estate, classified as Park Deer. The church is that of Denham St John the Baptist, without the tower. The trees look like apples representing the orchards at the fruit farm of Avalon Growers, possibly, established in 1969. there is a knight on a charger next to the trees and finally a monk with three chickens!
