Easton

The Sign
The main feature of the sign is a hunting scene representing the local hunt carried out by the Easton Harriers. The name at the top is set on a background of a crinkle crankle wall, which can be seen close by. The sign was presented by the local Women's Institute in 1969.

The Name and Population
The population was 331 at the 2011 census. The village was called Estuna in the Domesday Book and Eston in 1219. The name means "The east estate or farmstead" from Old English. The name is popular in a lot of counties in England. There is also an Easton Bavents in the county.

The church is dedicated to All Saints.

Easton is the former village of Easton Park, once the seat of the Duke of Hamilton.

Easton is also the home of Easton Farm Park, a farming museum with a selection of rare breeds and depicting other countryside related activities.
