Stuston

The Sign
The sign was erected in 1977 to celebrate the Queen's Silver Jubilee as shown on the sign. The dome could represent the church as it has a cross on top or maybe the crown of the Queen. The sign is made of wrought iron.

The Name and Population
A small village with 194 persons recorded at the 2011 census. It was called Stutestuna in 1086 and Stuteston in 1195 and Stuston in 1254. It means "The estate or farmstead of a man called Stut" from Old English; Stut means gnat.

Other Points of Interest
The church is dedicated to All Saints and has a round tower.
