The Sign
The sign is simple wrought iron scroll work encompassing a single tree, which could represent the chestnut tree that was planted in 1935 to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of King George V. or the trees in general around the estate.

The Name and Population
The population was 472 at the 2011 census. It was called Totestoc or Totstocha in 1086. The name means "Look-out or the Look-out's place" from Old English.
