Trimley Villages

The Sign
The sign is located between the two villages of Trimley St Martin and St Mary. It shows the sailing ship Desire which Thomas Cavendish sailed around the world in. It is a painted panel inside a wrought iron frame and welcomes all to the two villages.

It was unveiled on Saturday the 9th September 1995 in celebration of 50 years of peace and records the Trimley's gratitude to all those who served this country in her hour of need between 1939 and 1945; 'Lest we forget'. Those present were:

Ex AB P Gosling, RN

Ex PVTE D Francis, 2nd Berks Regiment

Ex CPL K Pooley, RAF

Ex LACW M Seaman, WAAF

Ex AB A Evans, MN
